Dr. Samuel Sheldon Fitch, who graduated from Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia in 1828, founded a patent medicine company in the late 1840s. Located on lower Broadway in New York, his products promised to cure consumption, asthma, heart diseases, bronchitis, head-aches, dyspepsia and anything else that might afflict you. This bottle displays his mark, "Dr. S.S. FITCH" "707 B. WAY B. WAY, N.Y."
