Needle

19th century

Knitting needles are also called knitting pins. Knitting needles come in a variety of diameter sizes and lengths. The most common type consists of two slender, straight sticks tapered to a point at one end, and with a knob at the other end to prevent stitches from slipping off. Double point needles are the old type of knitting needle.
