Niddy Noddy

1800

A niddy noddy is used to make a skein (a large coil of yarn intended for dyeing). Yarn is wrapped around the bars at either end of the device for the purpose of making the yarn more manageable. The name niddy noddy comes from the up and down motion seen when the tool is in use.
